CTS-220.IP phones suport optional WiFi module (WIFI1MOD). Module expands phone features to connecting to wireless WiFi network. Module is installed for standard phone by authorized service company


Warning!

For proper operation of CTS-220.IP phones with WiFi modules, network based on hardware from reputable vendors. Using WiFi network to transmit voice in real time isn’t as immune to signal interference like over wired network. From user point of view, proper operation of computer within network doesn’t guarantee voice transmition with good quality. Calls and voice quality depends elements, eg: network load (long and short term overload), interference between networks, loosing and changing packets order – when retransmission doesn’t work, excessive jitter.

Due to interference, bluetooth and WiFi modules can’t be used at same time.


Configuration

  • VoIP menu/Network settings:
    • By default, out of the box phone network interface are configured as DHCP clients, IP address will set up automatically
    • IP address configuration can be changed, same with VLAN, QoS (if phone is connected with LAN interface second configuration isn’t required)


After disconnecting Lan cable and WiFi that isn’t configured, information will pop up No connection/ Set WiFi parameters

  • Menu/ WiFi Search/ Add/ WPS mode
    • Search – search for available network, after selecting network enter password
    • Add – enter SSID of network, after confirming enter password
    • WPS mode - enable WPS using access point

In Search/Add mode, during entering password characters are encrypted. After pressing * (asterisk) on keypad will change to displaying character. Changing letter size is possible # (hash)


After successfuly connnecting to network, information about choosing VoIP server (PBX), which phone should connect too

  • VoIP Menu/ VoIP server
    • Auto or enter IP address manually


After configuration check network status in Status menu.
