Installation Elements
Patchpanel, distribution panel, switchboard - passive elements of structured cabling used to organize space in ICT cabinets in RACK version. On front side, it has set of 48 RJ-45 sockets on 19-inch wide metal strip, to which cables from other devices or telephone network are connected. On inside, depending on model, it has RJ45 sockets or LSA connectors. Termination (crossover) of cables on LSA connectors is done with use of patch knives, which place one of stranded wires in connector. Patch panels are most often useful where large number of cables in star topology converge in one place.
Cable mounting shelf - element used to organize space in RACK version telecommunication cabinets. It allows to organize, segregate and connect telephone cables.
Blanking panel for free spaces - element that complements free spaces between devices in RACK cabinet

Example application
- from PBX side - output of PBX ports (np: with RJ-21 connectors, Amphenol, another manufacturer, NCP) from LSA connectors to RJ-45 connectors for 19" RACK cabinet
- from phone network side - in 19" RACK cabinet termination of twisted-pair cables leading directly to telephone subscriber sockets
Patchpanels enable convenient connection of telephone network and PBX ports with RJ-45 connectors or two sections of telephone network terminated on patchpanels by means of patch cords

Example application
- connection of PBX exchanges using cards with special system of 4 ports outputs from one RJ-45 socket (IPL, IPM, NCP - FXS cards and CTS ports, hybrid cards of FXS subscribers and FXO trunks) using minimum number of UTP cables - 12 instead of 48 pcs.

Example application
- termination of telephone network on LSA connectors using all 4 pairs of UTP cable and its output on RJ-45 sockets on front panel
- introducing signals from 4 PBX ports to telephone network via RJ-45 sockets in order to maximize use of all 4 pairs of telecommunication cables (including UTP) in customer's network. Allows use of minimum number of UTP cables - 12 instead 48 pcs when fully occupied. IPL, IPM, NCP exchanges - have FXS and CTS subscriber cards as well as hybrid cards for FXS and FXO trunk with special system of 4 ports from one RJ-45 socket.

Example application
- termination of telephone network on LSA connectors inside and its output on 48 RJ-45 socket on front panel (4 subscribers on RJ-45 port)
- introducing into telephone network via RJ-45 sockets of subscriber signals from 4 GW shelves of NCP exchange in order to maximize use of patchpanel resources. NCP exchanges - have analog and system subscriber cards with special system of 4 ports outputs from one RJ-45 socket. This allows for single GW shelf to significantly reduce number of cables to patchpanel from 48 to 12 pcs. for introducing all GW subscribers. When 4 GW shelves are connected, all RJ-45 sockets of patchpanel are used and signals of 192 subscribers will be connected to LSA connectors.
