Slican audio system

Slican system is fully controlled audio system that allows to continuously play music in public spaces or broadcast advertising content (audiomarketing), independently - in every place designated by user. You can create zones so that same music is played in several different places - e.g. rooms, open spaces. System also allows for smooth muting of music for time of transmitting messages or instructions. Whole thing consists of desktop through which information is transmitted, speakers that play music and messages, encoder that converts analog signal into digital, NCP PBX which is server that allows to play music from any source (music services, Internet radio, your own stream from coder and files) and system management software. Unquestionable advantage of system is use of IP network as transmission medium. This allows signal to be transmitted virtually at any distance. It also significantly simplifies construction of new system due to possibility of using existing user IP network. Use active end loudspeakers (with built-in amplifier, with local and remote volume control) allows for flexible volume adjustment, for each place separately. Range of several different devices of various construction allows them to be used in various conditions - both indoors and outdoors

System was initially designed for use in limited area, e.g. large store. However, this does not exclude its use in local and distributed public address and broadcasting systems. Examples include: lecture halls, production and warehouse halls, office buildings, hotels, shopping malls, markets, sports facilities, parking lots, evacuation systems. It can be freely expanded at any time. All you have to do is start with one component and, for example, add more devices over time to create another zone.

Thanks to configuration analogy with CTS.IP and DPH.IP, installation of devices is significantly simplified. Configuration of entire system is done using NCP management application - ConfigWEB. New AudioMAN application has been prepared for management. With its help, user can change supervision of music sources for individual zones and independent regulation of both music and announcements for each of them.

General operating principle of system

By default, music or messages or advertisements previously prepared by user are broadcast through loudspeakers. Whenever necessary, any person makes call from phone or microphone desktop dialing number of single device (column, loudspeaker) or zone (group of loudspeakers). This operation can also be performed using appropriately programmed button on CTS-220IP.GNM call station or AUD.IP-DMIC1. Played music is smoothly muted, an acoustic signal sounds informing about start of delivering message, and then person initiating call transmits prepared information. Then signal is played again - informing about end of message. Speakers return to music broadcasting mode.

Default sound signal for beginning and end of message is "gong". It can be freely changed by administrator to different sound or announcement.

Volume of end speakers can be adjusted. Adjustment can be made separately for music and messages:

  • remotely - using separate sliders in application ConfigWEB and AudioMAN
  • locally - level can be changed by adjusting switch (e.g. roller shutter type) of currently played audio source

Explanation used terms:

  • zone - refers to loudspeaker or group of loudspeakers (AUDIO.IP-AMP10) - on which same music (advertisements) will be played. There can be multiple zones in system.
  • groups of broadcasting messages - components of which can be any selected loudspeakers or entire zones. This allows for configuration in which locations of announcements are independent of music playback zones. They may or may not coincide depending on your needs. Many such groups may be established in NCP PBX.

Dialing Paging Group number allows user to:

  • voice announcement using Microphone desk (AUD.IP-DMIC1) or Microphone call station (CTS-220.IP-GNM)
  • automatic playback of previously prepared single announcement (from file)
  • looping playback of same announcement (from file)
  • preceding and ending announcement with "gong" signal or any other, freely chosen one

Managing audio system (audio speakers, music, announcements, volume) and viewing its status by user - is possible using AudioMAN application. Music sources and announcements can be located locally - as files in NCP, played as audio stream from any server and from Internet, or converted from analog signal using audio coder AUD.IP-MCOD1.
