Safety Requirements and Certificate of Conformity for CTS devices

Safety Requirements applicable to the Operations and Maintenance of CTS System Telephones

It is essential to comply with the rules governing safety and use to ensure correct operation of this device.


Below are the basic elements to be taken into account by the manufacturer in the case of any complaints and claims submitted by users.


The rules relate to the installation, location and the requirements for the electrical power supply and data communication network.


Installation:

  • Only authorised or qualified manufacturer's service teams are allowed to install and initialise the device.
  • All the installation procedures should be performed in compliance with the assembly principles as well as any occupational health and safety regulations.

Working Environment:

  1. The system telephones must not be installed in closed rooms featuring high humidity levels. Such rooms may reduce the service life and quality of electronic component functions.
  2. Given the risk of flooding, the system telephones should not be located near water containers or water sources (such as water pools, valves, etc.).
  3. The device must not be installed in rooms featuring considerable dust levels or a strong electromagnetic field.

The system telephones may demonstrate irregular operations, interferences, or box discoloration if installed at the places exposed to:

  1. Direct sunlight,
  2. Frequent or strong vibrations or mechanical impacts,
  3. Live antenna radiation.

All devices connected to the telephone must have certificates of conformity with the standards in force in the European Union.


Security measures

To reduce fire risk, electric shock or injury, please read the security recommendation.

1. Carefully read instruction provided in this manual.

2. Comply with any instructions provided on the phone.

3. During cleaning, unplug the phone from phone line. Use a damp cloth. DO NOT use liquid cleaners or aerosol.

4. DO NOT use phone near water: sinks, bath tubes, water bowls, washing machines, swimming pools or other humid areas.

5. Plug in the phone in safe area. Make sure, line cable is placed out of the way of pedestrians. """DO NOT""" lay any items on line cables.

6. Avoid spilling any liquids on the phone. It may cause short circuit, fire or electrocution and is not covered by warranty.

7. Do not overload the electrical line, it can cause fire or electrocution.

8. NEVER put any items into CTS phones, it may cause short circuit and fire.

9. Ask qualified sevice, if phone requires any repair. Electrocution is possible during disassemble, opening or closing the housing wrong.

10. Avoid using the phone during a storm. There is a little chance for electrocution.

11.DO NOT use the phone when near gas leak.

12. Unplug the phone from the line and call for qualified service when:

• Any fuild is spilled on the phone.

• Phone has been exposed to rain or water.

• Phone do not operate proper despite, following the manual.

• Phone fell or the housing has been destroyed.

• The phone shows a significant change in performance.


All devices connected to the phone should have declaration of conformity with UE norms.

Product Description:

Slican CTS-338 sets are system telephones designed for integration with Slican PABXs. They feature an LCD display and 21 programmable quick dial backlit keys. This line of telephones can be integrated with CTS-338 consoles (one console is 38 additional keys). The telephones are connected to PABXs via a single cable pair (CTS-338 and CTS-338.CLBT - are digital system telephones compliant with the U terminal) or a LAN/WAN using Ethernet cables (CTS-330.IP VoIP system telephone).

The product complies with Directive No. 99/5/EC R&TTE and meets the requirements specified in the harmonised standards mentioned below:

EN 60950-1:2001 + A11:2009;
EN 55022:2010

Additional Information:

The device has been tested in a typical configuration, including connection with the SLICAN PABXs:IPL-256, IPM-032, IPU-14, CCT-1668, MAC-6400 and CXS-0424. It complies with the requirements applicable to admissible interference levels for B Class products.

If the device is installed improperly, it is categorised as class A and the following warning shall apply:

“The device is a class A product. It may cause interference with radio waves when used in household environments, which requires the user to undertake appropriate measures”.
